I John 4:16 NKJV
“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.”
I John 4:16 NKJV
John wrote about knowing God and believing in Him which are two important ingredients to our faith.
Both knowing and believing is in the present tense which speaks of constant faith, unwavering, and steadfastness in God.
Knowing God here is beyond intellectual knowledge. It is intimate knowledge, as Adam knew his wife.
Our relationship with God is not a ritual of attending church or paying our tithes. Our relationship with God is a journey of becoming one in spirit, soul, and body.
A relationship that is tested through the seasons of life. Walking with Him through the storms of life and experiencing His love in the midst of a storm.
Knowing God is knowing that His love for us is far greater than the best the world could offer. It is living a life that is conscious of His unconditional love and grace and it provokes every part of us to abide in Him.
To believe is to put our trust, to surrender, and to rest in Him because we are convinced of the truth and God is worthy of our trust.
To have a balanced spiritual growth is to have this combination - knowing God and believing in Him.
The evidence of a person abiding in God and trusting in Him will be visible to all. It will manifest the characteristics of God and His love.
Having one aspect without the other will bring imbalance to our spiritual growth as our relationship with God needs to be put into practice.
When we continue our life’s journey knowing God and believing in Him, we will make Him known.
Our experience of God’s love will be overflowing and will touch those around us.
Let us continue to experience God’s love, believe in Him, and glorify Him.
Blessings
