Matthew 5:44 NKJV
“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,”
Matthew 5:44 NKJV
One of the differences between those who know Jesus and those who don’t know Him is the capacity to forgive and bless those who hurt us.
It is hard to forgive a person in the natural but it is even harder to look for avenues to bless them with love and do good to them.
Yet it is possible for us to forgive, bless, do good and pray for them because we have been forgiven, we are blessed when we don’t deserve it and we are filled with the goodness of God.
When we acknowledge what God did for us first, it empowers us to forgive.
Every believer who says I can’t forgive and I can’t bless someone who has hurt them is someone who did not fully know what Jesus has done for them.
If we can count the wrong things we have done and how God has forgiven and blessed us, then we will be very generous with our mercy and forgiveness.
God commands us to forgive, love, and pray for our enemies because it will break that cycle of unforgiveness.
It will prevent unforgiveness from traveling from generation to generation and stop this deadly infection in the body of Christ.
God did not only empower us to heal the sick, cast out the devils, and set the oppressed free, but He also empowered us to forgive our enemies.
We have been empowered to forgive everyone no matter what they have done to us.
Let us forgive, pray and bless all who stand against us and be Jesus to all.
Blessings
