“For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭14‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus healed a man on the sabbath right in front of the ruler of the Pharisees.

This parable was a continuation of the question Jesus asked, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?

The Pharisees were supposed to teach, encourage, and build people to receive Christ.

They were supposed to prepare the way for the Messiah to come. Instead, they took the place of judging people.

They took a place higher than what they were supposed to.

They did not realise that they were judging the Son of the living God.

When we elevate ourselves higher because of our personal beliefs or our self-righteousness, we will begin to condemn and judge the good, the work of God, and even come against God himself.

But if we humble ourselves, we will be able to see God and His righteousness at work and we will be blessed by the Lord.

Humility is not beating ourselves down but taking up all that God has done for us.

Humility is saying yes to all that Christ has done for us no matter what the situation may look like.

This man who once was sick may have been sitting in the lowest place because of his condition.

He was elevated and known by all at the end of that supper.

Character is so important in the kingdom of God. No matter how it may look like, we need to hold our character according to the word of God.

We need to be humble to accept God’s plan and purpose as how God had prepared for all mankind.

Let us not elevate ourselves and judge people but with humility let us serve one another as unto the Lord.

Blessings
