Mark 1:8 NKJV
I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
Mark 1:8 NKJV
When John refused to baptise Jesus in the Jordan river, Jesus said in Matthew 3:15 that it must be done to fulfill all righteousness.
John's baptism is a baptism of repentance - cutting off from the world. It is a preparation of the heart and mind to choose to die to the things of the world.
It is also a public confession of an inward decision to be ready to enter another kingdom and another life.
Then Jesus baptised us with the Holy Spirit. It is baptism that causes us to be born again as a new creation restoring us to our true identity.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit should bring about a public showcase of what God's kingdom looks like.
The Holy Spirit within us gives us access right into the throne room of heaven and we become an heir of the kingdom of God.
One baptism prepares us and another brings us into living a supernatural life.
The baptism of repentance is forgetting our old life and its desires.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is living in the springing forth of God's glory and power every day.
It is important to know the supernatural life that we have through His Spirit. We build ourselves in the Holy Spirit by praying in the spirit. It will sensitise our minds and hearts to the things of God's kingdom.
Let us keep living our life in the Holy Spirit and let Him be the refining fire that causes us to shine the glory of God brighter each day.
Blessings
