Ephesians 4:11 NKJV
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,”
Ephesians 4:11 NKJV
Jesus gave Himself as a gift to the church for the Church to be equipped, trained, and to be sent as ministers of His kingdom.
Therefore, it is important for all believers to understand that God did not establish a church so that people can come in and be entertained, to add numbers or just to fulfil our Sunday duties.
The church is set up to equip the believers to be ready ministers of the gospel.
It is not the pastor's job alone to equip the church. It is all of the five-fold ministries that we embrace, acknowledges, and work together to equip the saints.
We need to open ourselves up as believers to be trained and equipped. We need to see ourselves beyond just a membership in the church.
We need to see ourselves as people of God with a mission and vision to minister Jesus to everyone.
The five-fold was given by Jesus to the church. Therefore, we respect, acknowledge, and make room for all these gifts to operate in the church.
We need to respect, honour, and submit to whoever God places before us to train and lead us in His ways.
Availability often equals obedience and obedience often equals availability. We need to be available and obedient to do what Jesus is teaching us.
Each one of us cannot do the work effectively if we do not intentionally make time available to do it.
As we learn from Jesus through the five-fold ministry that God has given, we need to be ready to live what we have learned.
We as His body walk in His presence, power, and love to reach the world for Jesus.
Blessings
