II Corinthians 7:10 NKJV
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. II Corinthians 7:10 NKJV We live in the midst of good and bad, pain and gladness, brokenness and wholeness. We are bound to make mistakes and have to learn to forgive and receive. When we are corrected, godly sorrow will produce "repentance" which means turning the opposite direction. The sorrow of the world is focused on the mistakes, self-pity and dwells in defeat. This is not the kind of sorrow that God wants from us. When we focus on the mistakes and failures, we start to paint a defeated picture in our mind. It causes us to be sorrowful that leads to destruction which is the total opposite of what God intends. What type of sorrow we will be in is based on how we choose to respond. How we respond towards the correction we received determines condemnation or edification. Every correction can make us better, stronger and wiser. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to become better. Godly sorrow is focused on God so that we can turn our direction towards Him and away from the past. Let every pruning, correction, adjustment and discipline bring us to spiritual growth so that we can grow from glory to glory. Blessings Ambrose Francis
