Philippians 4:12 NKJV

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:12 NKJV

Paul is speaking about being content with God in all circumstances and situations. Content is not an automatic feeling that everyone has. Contentment living comes about when a person has decided to put their absolute trust on something and live by it without being concerned about the happenings around them. A contented life starts when we choose to align our thoughts from every news of the world to the good news of the gospel. Paul witnessed to the Philippians is that in abundance or in lack, in persecution or in good company, he is always thankful and grateful for who he is in Christ. What do we value between lack and eternity in heaven, between having abundance here on earth and living in the mansion God has created for us? When we place our value on our spiritual kingdom than the earthly kingdom, the circumstances do not matter anymore. In our lack, and in impossible situations and persecutions, we can get excited for the miracles of God. And in our abundance, we can get excited because we can be a blessing to one another. When we choose to stand totally by trusting Christ, we have chosen to live a contented life. Let us evaluate what is of Christ and what is of the world. Casting and pulling down every high thing that is against the knowledge of God and bring our heart and mind in complete obedience to Christ. Blessings Ambrose Francis
