Amos 5:15 NLT
Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will have mercy on the remnant of his people. Amos 5:15 NLT
What is the level of hate we have towards evil and the works of evil? This is the discipline that the people of God have to put into action. Do we take lightly the activities of evil in our surroundings? Does it even bother us? In the Old Covenant, the people of God were disciplined to develop a sense of hate towards evil and the works of evil. They turn the areas of their lives, their time and their work to come against every work of evil. In the New Covenant, we need to discipline ourselves by loving God and understand His character through Christ. In the New Covenant, the entire focus is shifted from man's works and achievements to Christ's works and His achievements. Whatever effort, time and resources we put in today, it is to be investing with God's resources. The quality of our life is determined by the quality of the input we put in. If we put more of God, then we would reflect more of Him in and through our lives. It is important that we eagerly desire God and His word more than the things we want to see. God has made His children to be filled with His strength and all of His power. We should take every opportunity and grow in the glorious power of Christ. Let us take hold of everything that God has established and grow strong in the love of God. Blessings Ambrose Francis
