Psalms 11:1 NKJV
In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”? Psalms 11:1 NKJV
David was a fugitive from King Saul and his friends gave him the advice to flee from King Saul's wrath. David lifted his eyes, his mind and his heart from the troubles of life and he focused his attention on the LORD to stay in faith in a time of testing. David knew in His heart and through the experiences that he encountered that the safest place to stand was in radical trust in God. Just like David's friends who were concerned about his life and who asked him to flee, we too may have friends and loved ones who may give us the advice to flee from problems and situations. What David did was really radical. He waited for God to intervene. And because of His radical trust in the Lord, at the end, he stood to be the king of that nation. People can fall into many categories by their choices. How sad it would be for those who stand against God's elect. It is important to examine our decision on which side we are building. If we are building our trust in the Lord for His kingdom and his glory, we will see our victory. When the voices tell us to flee, we need to hear the voice of God and His promises. Digging our feet deep to be standing on the solid foundation that Christ established for us. Let us continue to surround our eyes, ears, mind and heart with the promises of God and not men so that we can put our complete trust in the Lord. Blessings Ambrose Francis
