Acts 21:13 NKJV
Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13 NKJV
After knowing what is going to happen to Him in Jerusalem through the Spirit and through Agabus's vision, Paul made this statement. There is a degree of knowledge that Paul had about the importance of spreading the gospel and teaching the truth that made him value his own life less important than the gospel. Paul had such a revelation knowledge that the gospel of Christ is life to all mankind and without it, man will lose this amazing blessing. His dedication and passion were not hindered by the people in the world but by religious people, including those who profess Jesus but still practice rituals and ceremonies. When Paul stood against that, they turned around and did not want to hear the truth. Religious spirits will blind the truth and cause them not to hear it but will get them to be offended by it. We need to see the importance of the gospel like how Christ wants us to see it. Like how Paul saw it. Paul mentioned that he prays in the Spirit more than many. Building our spirit man by praying in the spirit is one way we can incline our eyes, heart and mind to Christ. Let us evaluate the importance of the gospel and what are our responsibilities as an ambassador for Christ are. If we believe the gospel of Christ is the hope for all mankind, have we really valued the gospel more than our lives? This is something we grow into as we continue to know Him. Therefore, let us build ourselves in His word and in His Spirit. Blessings Ambrose Francis
