“And He said to them, “The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.””

What Jesus said here will undo some of the belief systems that have been set up in our churches today.

Jesus said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath was meant to give people rest, not to bring laws to burden people.

Jesus is our true rest, and therefore, Jesus is our true sabbath.

The Sabbath is not really about observing a day; the Sabbath was created to remind people that the day of eternal rest is going to be established in Christ Jesus.

Therefore, we don’t observe to keep one day to come to church and tick our boxes to fulfil our religious duty but to live in the rest of Christ’s finished work every day.

Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath. In Him, we are at rest all the days of our lives.

We go to church because we are in His rest.

We serve the Lord because we are in His rest

We do everything out of His rest every day.

Christ has brought us all out of bondage and placed us all in His kingdom, His rest.

God wants us to live life not by observing days and months and carrying out ceremonies but by living in the power of His resurrection every day.

The moment we start living in an observation mode, we have lost the true meaning of living in Christ.

We don’t observe; we participate in all that Christ has done for us, for He is the Lord of Lords.

He is now the Lord over every ceremony, ritual and observation put together.

In Him, everything has been established, and in Him is the call to live.

Let us start living the life of Christ with power, in peace and with love.
