Isaiah 51:1 NKJV
““Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug.”
Isaiah 51:1 NKJV
This is a powerful truth about living the righteous life that Christ has blessed us.
The most important thing about living a righteous life is to understand that righteousness is a gift from God.
Every word that we hear must always reflects His image and His character.
Following after righteousness is following after all that is in right standing with God.
We have to bring every word that we hear and check if it’s in alignment with God’s word which will reflect His image.
It is important that we look at the written word of God in the light of the finished work of Christ.
For it will reveal who we really are, whose image we bear and what power we carry inside of us.
We have been hewn, which means cut out from His image and shaped after Him. Therefore, we should be reflecting Him and Him alone.
We resemble Christ here on earth. Therefore, the doing is not God but us through Christ.
Tradition has taught us to pray and ask God to do everything while the word of God clearly says that God has empowered us with everything so that we can do it in His power.
We must make sure we don’t go back to a pit or a hole we were once in.
Jesus picked us up from that place so that we don’t do, think and speak those languages we used to speak in the pit.
Our eyes need to be fixed on Christ Jesus and align every part of us to living in every part of Him.
So don’t let any teaching or doctrine to take away our focus on living in Christ.
Every word of God needs to be made flesh in us. It becomes flesh when we believe it, practice it and change our five senses to what God has made us to be.
Let us walk in the righteousness of God which we have received as a gift from God.
