Acts 13:47 NKJV
For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” Acts 13:47 NKJV
Paul was in Antioch preaching the Gospel in the synagogue on the Sabbath. Paul's preaching of the truth caused the Jews to be filled with envy. They blasphemed and opposed the truth preached by Paul. Every time we stand for the truth we are going to stir some religious stuff. Truth causes every part of our heart and mind to be sanctified. If we allow it, we get sanctified but if we refuse, we become opposed to the truth. It's important to let the word of God be the final word we follow. The whole city was stirred by the Gospel and half of the city came back the next day to hear Paul again. That's the power of the gospel of Christ. All this happened because Paul carried out faithfully what he heard God said. For the Lord HAS commanded us. I HAVE set YOU AS A LIGHT that YOU SHOULD be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ Paul took the step by faith and followed what God HAD spoken. And the Holy Spirit accomplished the word as they went. This is a powerful truth. For too long believers are sitting for directions when all has clearly been spelt out by Christ in the redemption plan for mankind. The stories of the Acts of the Apostles does not end in the book of Acts. It ends with our last breath on earth. We are the light to be shining for Jesus, we are the hope to bring direction to the hopeless. The world is waiting, so is God for God's children to start moving instead of hibernating. The church of Jesus moves with power and love. It is a moving church. It's not a hibernating sanctuary. We are the agent of change, ambassadors, hope and light of salvation to the ends of the world. This is a revelation Paul lived out. It's our time now to live out the word of God from where we are and to the ends of the earth. Blessings Ambrose Francis
