I Corinthians 5:8 NKJV
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
I Corinthians 5:8 NKJV
So often as believers we are good in keeping up with the feast and ceremonies but our lives do not reflect what God has said about His church.
This was the condition of the church that was addressed in this chapter. A believer's life is not about keeping up the tradition but intentionally living life for Jesus.
Living a life that is constantly changing from glory to glory. A life of progress in the likeness of Christ.
This freedom that was purchased for us through the death and resurrection of Christ is not meant for us to stay in our defeated state of sin but to rise in the power of God to conquer sin and the challenges of life.
God is Spirit and those who worship Him MUST worship in spirit and in truth. In John 4:24, it clearly shows that everything that Christ spoke about is not about observing the natural stuff but living a supernatural life.
Sincerity and in truth. Sincerely means with all of our hearts and minds living in the truth of God's promises.
Living our lives sincerely for God and not for our selfish ambitions.
Doing everything with the right motives according to the kingdom of God.
God's word is to be the truth we stand on, believe in and speak out. His truth should be our compass for life.
Let us leave the symbols and rituals and live a spirit-filled life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Blessings
