II Corinthians 8:2 NKJV

that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.

II Corinthians 8:2 NKJV

This is the image of the kingdom of God pictured by a group of people who are living the word of God through thick and thin of every season.

It's not a challenge to give and share when our storehouse is full, abundant and overflowing. But we get a little nervous here and there when the stores are halfway filled.

These believers were persecuted, confiscated of their belongings, rejected and despised yet with great joy and with hearts filled with gratitude, they blessed one another with what they had.

The apostle honoured and spoke with much gratitude towards all who have lived this life as an example of the abundance of God.

This shows clearly that the abundance of the kingdom of God is not affected by famine, drought or lack. The abundance of the kingdom of God flows from our hearts toward God.

These believers did not complain about the lack or the persecution they were facing. They were focused on the characteristics of Christ.

After they have given their all, they still find ways to give. Such a powerful church that demonstrated the kingdom of God. This is the kingdom we have received from the Lord.

Money, luxury and posh lifestyles do not promise us joy and peace but God's kingdom does.

The kingdom of God is within us. We can bring about the best of every situation if we want to. The power has been given and the question that is needing an answer is if we will step out in faith and do as God says?

This is the reflection of God's kingdom. That which is in us cannot be stopped by the things that are outside of us.

Let us build and live life in the kingdom of God, sharing and caring for one another.

Blessings

Ambrose Francis.
