I Corinthians 3:12 NKJV
“Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,”
I Corinthians 3:12 NKJV
The foundation is laid in our lives and that foundation is Jesus Christ.
Every promise Jesus has made is built upon this foundation.
How much value we put on Jesus and His word matters, just like gold, silver and precious stones are valued.
The verse continues to say after precious stones are wood, hay and straw.
If someone saw hay on the ground, they would walk on it and pay no attention to it at all.
But if they saw gold on the ground, their whole attention would turn to it.
They will take it, wonder who it belongs to, make some publicity of it if their intention was to return it.
Suddenly, time, effort and energy are spent concerning this gold that was found.
But no such attention was given to straw or hay. It is because of the value it carries.
Paul taught us that how we value God’s promises will show how much time and effort we put into knowing Him.
There are those who call themselves Christians and there are those who, by their actions, are known that they are followers of Christ.
We are born again not just to be part of a group but to live, display and demonstrate the power of God.
All this comes down to how each one values God and His promises.
Let us reason what is the most important thing in life and start valuing what Christ has done for us.
Blessings
