Genesis 6:3 NKJV
“And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Genesis 6:3 NKJV
Amazingly, we often misunderstand God because we don’t understand things from God’s perspective.
When we read this passage, we may assume that God cut short human age to 120 years.
Abraham, Isaac and Eber all lived longer than 120 years. This is not God cutting short men's lives but extending grace to all mankind.
Even though the evil of men have reached its peak. God’s grace was prepared for mankind to be saved from the flood.
God’s saving plans are for all but only Noah saw the goodness of God in the midst of an evil generation.
The Bible says that every one of the thoughts of men’s hearts was only evil continually.
Noah was showing the grace of God, that there is still hope among men if they turn to God.
Noah saw that grace and by faith, he trusted God’s goodness which saved all who followed him.
Jesus is our grace, manifested so that all mankind can be saved. Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save them.
This reflects the character of God, that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that all who believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Let us continue to behold God’s goodness, love Him and make Him known.
Blessings
