Luke 8:50 NKJV
“But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
Luke 8:50 NKJV
This is Jairus asking Jesus if He would come and heal his daughter. Jesus was interrupted by a woman who received her miracle by touching Jesus.
After finding out what happened, Jesus sent her with His peace.
But Jairus got the news that his daughter was dead.
Jesus stepped in at the hearing of the news and said to Jairus “Do not be afraid and ONLY BELIEVE."
Basically, Jesus told Jairus to let the news he just heard to take flight. Don’t let it stay. Cast it off and exchange it with expectations to receive from Jesus.
The end result of believing in Jesus is that she will live and will be well.
Each one of us always has these moments every day when we hear news contrary to God's promises.
We have a choice to hibernate and give birth to what we don’t want to happen or to trust God and His promises.
By meditating on God’s promises, we let the Holy Spirit to brood on it till we see the promise reveal itself.
As Jesus said to Jairus, He is saying to us the same. Fear not, don’t hold on to the news contrary to what He has promised and meditate on what God’s word has said.
Do we have God’s promises in our hearts?
Do we give our mind substance to dwell on and be captivated so that we can see God’s results?
Let us flee from anything that is against God’s word and believe His word above all else because He is faithful. What God has said, it will come to pass.
