Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul taught us that we put on the helmet of salvation and use the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

The helmet protects the areas of our entire head. It shields the brain, eyes and ears.

Spiritual salvation is spoken of here as a helmet of protection.

Salvation takes place after redemption. Without redemption, there is no salvation.

Jesus redeemed us from the curse of sin and death.

Therefore, we are protected by the knowledge that we have been redeemed and have received salvation.

The enemy satan is the accuser, and if our minds are filled with the knowledge of what Christ has done for us, then satan cannot penetrate to bring condemnation.

What we allow to set in our mind, or how we see ourselves and what we give our ears to hear is very important.

If our helmet has holes and cracks and is exposed, the enemy can penetrate through those areas.

That is why it is important that we fix our eyes on Jesus, hear what the Holy Spirit is saying and be filled with the revelation knowledge of Christ Jesus.

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God. We cut the enemy off by knowing the word of God.

We cut off the enemy's tricks, lies and deceit by the word of God.

Our knowledge of what Christ has done for us determines how strong our helmet is.

Our knowledge of the truth of God’s word will determine how sharp our sword is.

Let us continue to grow in the knowledge of our salvation and be strong in the power of His might.
