I Samuel 15:19 NKJV
“Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the Lord?””
I Samuel 15:19 NKJV
God spoke through the prophet Samuel to Saul and gave him instructions to utterly destroy the enemy.
But Saul spared the king and the best of the animals for his people and as a sacrifice unto the Lord.
That caused Saul to lose his purpose as a king and brought judgment upon himself.
Obedience is not a curse, it is not to control and is not to bring harm.
Obedience is to live in the blessings, healing and well-being of our lives.
Many have said God told them this and that but after a few challenges, they go about doing their own thing.
Some do it because it looks better naturally, some do it out of good intentions and some for safety.
But God, who sees the end from the beginning, knows everything about us and what is needed.
His blessings are stored up in obedience according to His word.
We thank God for the covenant of grace that we have in Christ.
The best thing for us to do is to get back to what God has said, be at the place where God wants us to be and enjoy the blessings God has prepared for us.
Obedience is a place where we stand according to His word. Just like Peter came out of his place and walked on water in God’s place.
It is never too late to come back to His Word, but don’t linger for too long, for our hearts will become cold in hearing God.
We are all washed in the blood of Christ and as a new creation, let us get back to what God has said.
What really pleases God is not the sacrifices that we make but our obedience to His word.
Let us obey God and be a shield and be filled with His abundance all the days of our lives.
Blessings
