Matthew 16:23 NKJV
“But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offence to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.””
Matthew 16:23 NKJV
Peter, who received the revelation confessed Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, was rebuked by Jesus.
What happened?
Peter saw the works of Christ, the miracles, and the teachings that were accompanied by signs and wonders, which caused him to see the supernatural.
The same Peter began to see Jesus in the natural and analyse situations according to the natural circumstances. It caused him to see the loss.
Peter moved from revelation to situation. That caused him to stand against Christ's mission.
Peter, in his own heart, did not hate Jesus. He was kind and protective and did not want to lose Jesus.
When we look at things based on our natural circumstances, our kindness, offer of support and help are not necessarily a good thing; we might be against what God has planned.
Therefore, it is important that we function in the spirit and hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us.
It is important that we see through the word of the living God, seeing things through the right lens.
Jesus is the revelation to all mankind. That is the only lens that is going to help us see who we are and what Christ wants us to do.
As a believer, as spirit beings, we are to see things and process things in the spirit and not according to our carnal reasoning.
Let us continue to walk in the spirit and follow His voice.
