Nehemiah 1:4 NKJV

So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. Nehemiah 1:4 NKJV

Nehemiah loved God and his love for God was displayed by the way he reacted when he heard the temple wall was broken and its gates were burned with fire. The affairs of God's house became personal to Nehemiah. His heart was broken by just hearing that the temple qass in ruins. We read the story of how the love he has for God caused him to rebuild the temple. Withstanding every discouragement and facing every form of persecution, he finally finished rebuilding the house of God. The people who did not know God and despised Nehemiah perceived that God built the temple because it seems impossible to build it in fifty-two days. All this miraculous act was displayed because someone loved God with everything within them. We live in a world with so much around us. And love haa a different meaning now. Today we say we love chocolate, we love cars and so on. But the love Nehemiah had for God consumed him. He risked his life to speak to the king about the rebuilding of what was broken. Our love for God will be displayed in the way we serve Him and His kingdom. Our love for God will be displayed in the way we commit to God's agenda. We need to let our hearts be consumed with Him so that we too can love Him with passion. Supernatural things will take place, the favour will come and laws will be changed to accommodate the purposes of God. We need to honour God, love God and follow God beyond the surface. We need to love Him with all of our heart, mind and strength. Let us continue to grow in love with God and see what He has done for us so that we too can love God with everything within us.
