Colossians 1:9 NKJV
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Colossians 1:9 NKJV
Paul is writing to the Colossians commending their love for God and for the people. Paul said that the moment they heard about them, they never ceased to pray for them. We often think prayers are needed only when we are weak, in lack, in trouble or when surrounded by problems. Certainly, the Colossians in this group is doing well and Paul is saying they prayed for them increasingly. There is a reason why prayer is a lifestyle for believers. The more effective we become, the more necessary we need to pray and be alert. Our enemy is not worried if we are not effective or passive but the moment we become effective ministers of God and proactive in the things of God, then our enemy will throw all kinds of things to stop or divert us from our goal and focus. We as a church and individuals need to have a lifestyle of prayer where we are exercising the authority that God has given to us. This is so that we are always flowing in the knowledge and wisdom of God. That our mind and hearts are always steadfast, fixed on God. The more effective we get, the deeper we anchor ourselves in Christ and the stronger we stand in the truth of God's word. We as a church need to pray for ministries that are effective. Ministeries that are making a difference in our community and in our nation. Prayer is a weapon in the hands and mouth of the believers. If one does not use them, the enemy will then have access. We need to stop every access of the enemy by standing in the truth. Let us use the weapons that we have received from the Lord and pray into every area of our thriving or struggling ministries. This is so that all will grow from glory to glory, amen. Blessings
