Acts 12:5 AMP
So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church. Acts 12:5 AMP
Herod, the king was arresting believers at that time and killed James, the brother of John. Seeing that the Jews liked what Herod was doing, Herod arrested Peter to be killed. At this point, the church was praying fervently and persistently for Peter. And the night before, Herod wanted to bring Peter forward. An Angel appeared to him and rescued Peter out of that prison. Peter was bound with chains between 2 soldiers and with guards guarding the prison but those things could not keep Peter when the church took their place and prayed for Peter. Jesus has given the church authority, power and dominion in His name to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. If we can stand together in one accord with persistent prayer and fervently using every spiritual gift that we have in Christ, then we will see many supernatural things before our eyes. When we as believers or as a church come together in one accord, we can release something together in the atmosphere that will change what seems unchangeable. The only thing that can limit the power of God is our unbelief. Because the Bible says that all things are possible to those who believe. If we as a church can take time to see what Jesus has given to the church, we would be amazed by the power and authority that was given to us to use for His kingdom. We need to be fervent and persistent in our prayer. This is not a 'give me this or give me that' kind of prayer. It is a prayer of deliverance, breakthroughs, healings, according to the plans and purposes of God. Prayers that are not self-centred but the kingdom of God centred with a heart for the kingdom of God. Praying for souls to be saved, healed and delivered in the mighty Name of Jesus. Let us take our place in prayer. Joining together in one accord establishing God's kingdom here on earth. Blessings
