Psalms 37:7 NKJV

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Psalms 37:7 NKJV

The psalmist is calling us to rest, be still and be silent in the Lord. This rest, be still, be quiet and be in silence does NOT mean doing nothing.

This is an action we do to silence the voice of our surroundings so we can hear the voice of God. To rest in the Lord is to stay firmly with our feet anchored in God and not what the devil is doing in the world.

We often say to people

"Don't worry, God will take care of you". That is only true and will take place if we believe in Him and put our trust in Him.

In order to rest in the Lord, we have to make choices to shut the works of the enemy and fix our eyes firmly on the works Jesus has done for us.

It is about not moving from our position, our inheritance and our identity in Christ.

We need to settle in and rest ourselves in the truth of God's word. The enemy wants to get our attention on what he is doing. He wants us to get upset and be divided.

The enemy, satan, comes to steal, kill and destroy. If we keep entertaining ourselves with what satan is doing in the world then he will steal our joy, peace, faith, jobs and blame God for it.

Eve entertained the serpent and she fell to the bait that led to the destruction of mankind. The enemy satan is doing the same thing today.

We have to stand strong in God's word. Don't give in to satan but fully immerse ourselves in God, in His word and live by His Spirit.

Let us all completely be anchored in Christ Jesus our Lord and believe great things will start to unfold before us.

Blessings
