“And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus gave this illustration to answer a question the disciples asked about having faith to forgive.

Jesus used this illustration which was familiar to them to point out that we forgive because we are commanded to.

Forgiveness is not about being rewarded but it is about being redeemed.

Many can’t forgive because they want to be justified. They want all who had done wrong to them to pay in full and they want to be vindicated.

If that same measure is put on us all, all of us have no hope for eternal life at all.

None of us can pay for our mistakes, our sins, and our wrongdoings.

Most of the sins we have committed are irreversible and we cannot go back to make it right or have the power to undo it.

Jesus forgave us by His own death and He did it not because of the reward but because of love.

Jesus served us and gave His life to the crowd that shouted “Crucify Him”.

We cannot demand a reward for forgiveness, but if we forgive, it is rewarding to our own souls.

When we forgive, we release ourselves from the bondage and curse that the enemy intended.

We have been ordained to live a blessed life and have been set free to enjoy His fullness.

It is too costly to shortchange our blessings and block our inheritance in Christ because we cannot forgive someone.

The good news is that God has given to all every measure that is needed to forgive.

Therefore, let us gladly forgive each other so that we can be free to enjoy the blessings God has prepared for us.

Blessings
