‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Some fell on rock; and as soon as it sprang up, it withered away because it lacked moisture.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭8‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus talked about the types of ground that will cause good growth and the type of ground that will not help the seed to produce.

Here he talked about the ground that is filled with rocks, hard materials that cannot hold or absorb water to help the seed grow.

This speaks about the condition of our hearts towards receiving God’s word.

It’s important that we check our hearts as we hear the word of God.

Is there an element in us that pushes away some truths because we hold on to our old beliefs?

Do we have people in our lives that we cannot forgive yet we say we love God?

Do we live life with partiality, treat others better than some?

Are we so comfortable and well secured that we refuse to change?

There are many ways to cause the ground of our hearts to be hardened but only one way to make it good.

Follow Jesus and His ways and we will keep our hearts receptive and yielded to all good things.

The plants died because of the lack of moisture in the ground. Meaning the seed is good but the ground was not able to sustain the moisture to help it grow.

It’s important that we surround our lives with a community that can help hold the spiritual moisture for our spiritual growth.

If we are surrounded by negative people and always talking about the bad, the lack and the calamities of the world.

This also can suck the moisture out of our lives. We need to surround ourselves with people that hold the moisture of God and His atmosphere in our lives.

So that we can reach out to the broken world effectively. God's body is the church and to be part of a believing church is very important.

Let us examine our hearts and remove those stumbling stones and cultivate a good soil to hold good moisture.

Blessings
