“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,”

‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Peter was explaining an important message from verse 18 that Christ suffered, was put to death in the flesh and was made alive by the Spirit for our sake.

The mind we should have is not the mind that we should suffer unto death but a mind that we are alive in the Spirit through Christ. For He has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

Because Jesus took all the sufferings and the penalty of sin that was supposed to be ours, therefore, we should be living free from sin and its influences.

He is not saying that we will should be punished for our sins but to understand what was in Christ's mind when He came down to earth.

Christ's mind was to free God’s children from the power of death and to restore us all back to His image and likeness.

The mindset that we have been set free is the starting point for us to walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for us.

This is the mind that we should have in us that we have been set free by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us cast off mindsets that bring us back to bondage, back to sickness, and back to punishment.

Let us continue to renew our hearts and minds with the blessings Jesus granted to all who believe in Him.

Let us all set our minds on what Jesus has accomplished for us and let us walk in obedience all the days of our lives.
