I Corinthians 16:11 NKJV
“Therefore let no one despise him. But send him on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brethren.”
I Corinthians 16:11 NKJV
Paul sent Timothy to Corinth because Paul could not go to visit them. Many opposed Paul’s ways of teaching about Christ and they were divided in opinion.
Paul wrote this letter to warn the believers to respect and honour Timothy to carry out God’s plans and purposes.
Paul was telling the Corinthian believers to help assist Timothy to fulfil the task given to him.
This scripture reveals to us the importance of honouring God’s servants and assisting them to accomplish God’s plans and purposes.
The ministry of help, care, and honour is sometimes overlooked by many in the church and in the family of God.
People can protect the messenger and the message with their care, love, and honour.
Every single help and assistance to the messenger will accomplish God’s purpose and it is so vital in keeping the message intact and delivering them.
Every work of God that is carried out in unity makes a huge difference. When people come together to support, encourage and stand together in agreement, it sends a stronger message to the hearers.
The people who care, refresh others, and take time to minister to the messenger are such a gift to the body of Christ.
They become part of the vessels that carry the plan and purposes of God.
We all will have opportunities to help, to care, and to encourage someone who is doing the will of God.
When that opportunity comes, we also have the opportunity to become part of the vessel that carries the message by caring and honouring them.
Let us take the opportunity to pray, encourage, support, and stand by them so that we can accomplish God’s purpose together.
Blessings
