Hebrews 12:11 NKJV

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterwards it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11 NKJV

I am not sure anyone wants to put up their hands to be chastised joyfully. This is something everyone looks forward to avoiding completely.

We look forward to the assurance, edifications and compliments by others of who we are and what we have achieved. These are great to receive and we all look forward to it.

All the compliments, achievements and success is about what we have produced but to be disciplined is about what we are going to produce.

Better fruits come from a tree that has gone through pruning. No farmer is going to get good quality crops by letting his vineyards grow wild.

Some he cuts it to the point of no leaves so that the next leaf that comes out is undefiled by insects, disease or defects.

Chastising of the Lord is never about punishment, it is about cultivating and cutting of unproductive things that hold back productivity.

We will always go through pruning and chastening if we want to keep changing from glory to glory.

We cannot stop change. Everything around us keeps changing every day. But we can change for the better, to display more of Christ every day.

If we will look at chastening as an asset to grow and become more productive then we will take every constructive criticism as a benefit to us.

God chastises us because He loves us. He is looking into every area of our life to be productive. If we allow Him to be the vinedresser, He will take care of the growth.

He is always paying very close attention to our growth, even at things that we are not aware of is taken care of by our Heavenly Father.

So let us give ourselves to the Lord to be cut and to be productive.

Blessing
