II Corinthians 7:6 NKJV
“Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,”
II Corinthians 7:6 NKJV
Paul had to rebuke some lifestyle that was found among the influential leaders on his previous visit.
He sent Titus to see if the Corinthian church have accepted his corrections and repented of their lifestyle.
It was comforting for Paul to know that the Corinthians indeed have accepted the corrections and guidance and lived accordingly.
Having accountability is not only important to encourage us in the ways of the Lord but it also helps to resolve issues and conflicts in the community.
As the scripture says that “as a man thinks so is he”.If we don’t have guidance and accountability from a person who gives counsel from God’s word, we can be drifted away from the truth of our own desires.
Paul is also discipling Titus as he sent him to see to it that the issues were taken care of.
We all need to step up as kingdom people to follow kingdom principles and follow the King of kings.
We need to encourage each other in God’s way to help us all focus to live according to the kingdom of God.
Paul said he is comforted by God by the coming of Titus with the good news.
All Paul desired was not to have the power to rule over them but to sincerely love them and willingly put himself at risk of being rejected by the influential Corinthians.
So is the love of our godly leaders towards the children of God when correcting the people in love and in truth for God’s kingdom.
Truth can hurt when we are living in deception, truth can be uncomfortable and painful but when we turn to the truth, every bondage of fear, hurt and pain will disappear.
Let us continue to yield ourselves to God, His Spirit, Word and the people He sends to help us.
Blessings
