Philippians 1:22 NKJV
“But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.” Philippians 1:22 NKJV
Paul, though living in chains yet brought forth such fruitfulness by the grace of God. This is proof that earthly things, circumstances of life and challenges that we face have no effect on fulfilling the purposes of God. Paul is not traumatised by these two decisions between living and dying but he is liberated to know whichever way it’s going to go, it will be a joy for him. He has asked the saints to pray for him, that the best of what God wants will come out of it. If we are bound in some way like Paul, in chains, that does not mean it is a bad thing. It might even be for the furtherance of the kingdom. There are more important things that matter with regards to eternity than temporal things. Setting to live that way will cause the weight of the world’s standard to drop off of our lives. Many who are serving the Lord go through tremendous hardships at times. Whether it is because of our mistakes or not, God can turn them all for the benefit if we let Him. Choosing to live a life a certain way may not be necessarily the best thing to do but making the best out of every situation in Christ definitely is. Paul who lived in prison and in chains was confident that no matter what happens he will always be a blessing to all. No circumstances can stop Paul to fulfil his destiny in Christ. Paul did not have a pulpit, no crowd before him and no comfort but a heart so full of love, grace and wisdom from God. Let us take courage in Christ as Paul did and begin to see things from our eternal perspective instead of the temporal. Blessings
