Paul was so confident in the faith, the dedication and the demonstration of God’s love in the lives of the Thessalonians. Paul, knowing that the Thessalonians were doing what God has shown them and taught them affirms their conduct. Just as Paul knows that the faith of the Thessalonians has brought many blessings to the entire ministry and movement, so must we know that we are all elected by God to do the same. We too need to know for ourselves that we are elected by God, chosen, appointed to represent God in this earth. Assurance is such a needed and important ingredient for our development in Christ as a believer. We need to assure and reassure one another of who we are in Christ. Encouraging and building ourselves in the Lord according to the word of Christ. The more we assure ourselves and assure one another in Christ, the more confident we get in Christ Jesus. We need to create a healthy culture with regards to who we are and what we are called to be. There is so much worldly information that has crept into our lifestyle, our churches and our nations. Looking back makes us realise how far we have drifted away from the foundation that Jesus has laid for us. It is time to affirm and reaffirm all that Jesus has established and put into action all that is in us. What we do in Christ today matters as it will restore and reshape our lives in Him Let us continue to reflect Christ and display His love, grace and mercy to our generation and to the next generation to come.
