‭‭Philemon‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you—being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ—”

‭‭Philemon‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul who is an apostle and a seasoned minister of the gospel gives honour and respect to the local elders.

Paul said even though he knew what was right and what needed to be done, he appealed in love.

Paul made his request known to Philemon instead of commanding him to receive back his runaway slave.

Paul is very firm, strong, persistent and yet brings the correction with love and honour.

Paul’s way of approach to bring correction and edification opened up the hearts of his receivers because it revealed his intentions.

Paul’s intentions are not for personal gain but to give instructions for their own benefit.

God has placed each one in their offices of work, ministry, churches and as parents.

Respect the position and bring correction with love and honour if there is something that needs to be corrected.

Don’t be harsh and hard on people just because we are in authority and in leadership.

All of us are called to serve in the body. Hurting a part of our body is only going to set the whole body backwards.

But motivating each other in love and bringing correction in honour opens up each heart to receive better.

Love has to be the ultimate goal in bringing correction as it reflects God and His character.

Let us follow the effective way to minister grace as Paul did and bring people to live in God’s truth.

Blessings
