‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV

“And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul was addressing the people who once walked in the grace that Jesus Christ brought to them.

Now from revelation of God’s grace, they moved back to observation, carrying out rituals and keeping traditions.

God our Father has revealed to us all through Christ Jesus. Everything pertaining to life and godliness has been given to us through Christ.

Now we are to follow Him, live in Him, move in Him and have our being in Him.

In this verse Paul is saying to them that he was more zealous than them concerning observations and carrying out traditions. By doing so, he became an enemy of God.

Paul also said that if anyone preached other than the gospel of Christ,

let him be accursed.

That is a strong statement from Paul. Because he saw what happened to him when he was observing traditions instead of living God’s word.

This means not to move away from living the life Jesus Christ has purchased for us.

If we are doing the rituals and observing things while the living God is in us. We will be going backwards into works instead of living out Jesus.

It’s very hard for one who is strong in observing rituals to see it because their eyes are on the earthly things instead of looking to Christ and His promises.

We need to take time to see, are we looking at Jesus and His word or are we looking at things that speak of Him?

Paul wants everyone to see what He is seeing. Jesus Christ the revealed word of God to all mankind.

We now see Jesus through His word, meditate on His words and practice it till it becomes one in us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus Christ our Saviour, meditate on His word and live by the power of His Spirit.

Blessings
