“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”

To be free from a sinful habit does not come by trying to stop sinning but by knowing who we really are in Christ.

The mentality of those who sin generally is because they think they cannot stop it.

The truth is in Christ we are already dead to the attraction to sin or its power over us.

In Christ we have the power over sin and death. Because Jesus broke the power of sin and death over us.

If we keep meditating on how powerful we are in Christ, every sinful thoughts, sinful desires and its passion will start to loose its grip on us.

If we give time and effort to put on Christ, meditate on how Christ has empowered us to overcome sin, then we will have no interest to come under a defeated force.

God wants us to lift up our heads up to Him and look unto all that He has done for us.

Sin on the other hand wants us to look down on all the bad things we have done and be trapped in it.

Our first step to being free from sinful habits is by looking up unto Jesus and His power that is at work in our lives.

We are called to live in the likeness of His resurrection. This means we must live life past the flesh and start living in the power of His Spirit.

Let us start to lift up our lives unto God as one who has died to the flesh and live in the resurrection power of Christ.
