I Corinthians 13:1 NKJV

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

I Corinthians 13:1 NKJV

Paul is showing the Corinthians an excellent way than just desires spiritual gifts and that is to live life in love.

A person can function in all the gifts but if the person is missing the characteristics of love, all the ministries become a show to puff oneself and not to bring glory to God.

God resists the proud.

To live more excellently, according to Paul, is lined up with the first and second commandments that Jesus gave which is love.

Love is not just a word.

Love is a person.

Love is God.

Whatever we do in the kingdom of God must not be based on our gifts or giftings.

Everything has to be based on God who is love. When we function from the place of love in God, then we will leave a lasting effect in everything we do.

Many people today spend time alone thinking that is love, some even say they are spending time with God alone and that is it.

We are missing the point. For love to take effect, we have to be among people.

Love is kind, we need to be with someone to show kindness.

Love suffers long, we need to be among people who will help us exercise that.

Love does not envy, does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own and the list goes on.

We are meant to be among people to build God's kingdom with His love.

We are to express our love to God in our relationship with Him and with one another. The word of God says in 1 John 4:12 God's love is being perfected when we love one another.

Let us continue to build our characteristics in God's love so that His love will be displayed in and through our lives.

Blessings
