I Corinthians 7:20 NKJV

Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.

I Corinthians 7:20 NKJV

Though Paul is addressing many issues in this chapter, one of the most important we need to understand in his address is that all of us are called with the highest calling.

We all are called to the highest calling which is higher than being apostles, evangelists, prophets, teachers or pastors. Higher than any work or positions here on earth.

We have all received the right to become children of God. That's the highest calling that we should remain.

Everything we do flows out of our new identity. Therefore, there is nothing selfish or there is no error that is going to come out of our identity as children of God.

Instead, only good things will come out of our identity in Christ Jesus.

To remain in our identity as children of God gives us all the confidence, assurance and acceptance that God has accepted us all through Christ Jesus and we are His.

Our first calling is not the fivefold ministry.

Our first calling is to be God's children. This is our first love, a place where we receive the love of our Heavenly Father.

This is the calling that should always be on top of everything we do in the kingdom of God.

God desires us more than the work we do for Him. The work we do is a natural effect of our love for Him.

No one who loves someone truly will sit back and just enjoy the company. They will always look for ways to love and bring joy to the hearts of the people that they love.

Let us all remember and remain in the highest calling that we have received through Christ Our Lord.

Blessings
