“Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.”

God spoke to Moses to speak to the rock and it would yield water that would meet the needs of the people.

God told Moses to SPEAK but Moses out of anger and frustration struck the rock twice.

Even though the water came out, the first generation could not enter the promised land.

This is also a picture of the new covenant believers. God gave us the authority to speak to our mountains.

Some of us are still frustrated and angry because we do not see results immediately.

This frustration causes us not to journey until the end and enjoy the abundant life that Jesus had prepared for all people.

Obedience is crucial for believers to walk into God’s fullness. God’s intention was not just a drink in the desert but to live in the land that flows with His abundance.

Following God’s instructions will release divine power to create something out of nothing.

God spoke to Moses to speak to the rock - the hardest material on the surface, not the dry lake or waterhole.

The impossible will be made possible when we obey God and do as He says.

When we face temptations, trials, and tribulations, we must not act on what we are up against but just do what God has said.

Our miracle to the fullness has been prepared, only obedience will get us all there.

Let us obey God and take His word with such reverence that we will not depart from it.
