Philippians 2:30 NKJV
“because for the work of Christ, he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.”
Philippians 2:30 NKJV
Paul is speaking of Epaphroditus from the Philippian church. They are so united with the mission that Paul carried in his heart to preach the gospel.
The Philippian church was instrumental in meeting the needs of Paul when he was on trial.
The one thing that was missing was their presence which Epaphroditus filled it.
Epaphroditus risks his life to care for and serve Paul. Some things that Epaphroditus did may seem like gambling his life away just to meet needs.
But this is the truth for Paul, to know such heart that is around him and it means more than the resources he had received from the Philippian church.
We all have that opportunity to be that person to each other. Loving, caring, and meeting each other’s needs.
We can be that personal touch of God’s grace to each other. We must not take things for granted and miss the opportunity to be united, supported, and encouraged.
We all bring something special to the body of Christ. We all have gifts that are meant for the body of Christ.
Constant support speaks of our unity, our mission, and our vision. Many just do what they feel like. But some are committed to their very life.
Paul found that in Epaphroditus and Paul was blessed by what he brought from the Philippian church.
We too can bring such presence to each other for the Gospel to be preached to the ends of the earth.
Let us take every opportunity that we have to make things happen for the Gospel to be preached.
Blessings
