Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus addressed the Pharisees with the truth. The Pharisees were asking how come His disciples were gathering food on the field on the sabbath.

Jesus said, "there is one who is greater than the temple." The Pharisees adored the rituals, the buildings, and ceremonies.

But Jesus told them what matters is the One who formed them.

What matters is the One who created the rules have spoken, and thus it becomes a law of life.

The law is meant to protect and not destroy the people. Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save them by His grace and mercy.

Many want to observe the traditions and ceremonies because it is easier to do so than to live out the word of God

To LIVE out the WORD of GOD involves commitment and dedication.

Many believers prefer to hold on to tradition instead of the Lord who made them.

We need to honour the Creator and not the created things. By observing the traditions, the Pharisees missed the presence of the living God.

The greater One is here in our midst.

The greater One is living in us.

The choice is ours to make, to live in Christ or to live according to the law.

Don’t sit on the promises of God but live them out daily in our lives.

Let Jesus be the King of our lives.

Let us give Him the honour and not the rituals. Everything we do needs to glorify the Creator and not the created things.

Everything we have and everything we achieved is because God has given it to us.

Let us not turn our back on the One who blessed us but HOLD on to Him more than the blessings we have received.

Let us honour, worship, and adore the greater One who is Jesus Christ our Lord.
