“And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.”

The first Adam had authority over the earth when he was created, but lost it through disobedience.

Jesus is the last Adam. What the first Adam lost, Jesus took back all authority over the earth and defeated the devil.

When Jesus spoke, people noticed something very different about Him. Every word that Jesus spoke carried authority.

When Jesus spoke, it brought conviction, people were cut to their heart, some were offended by the truth and others marvelled at the authority He had.

This is because Jesus was living as a man who had dominion over the earth, because Jesus is living in the image of His Father and living in His Father’s glory.

We who are born again and live in Jesus carry the same authority and power as Jesus did.

Jesus demonstrated to us the life we can have in Him. Jesus did not walk around complaining and murmuring about the situation around Him but every opportunity that He had, He fixed it.

We are called as an overcomer, more than a conqueror, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath because this is what Jesus gave us through His Spirit.

We have the power to bring change into our lives and into every situation. We are to rule and reign with Christ here on earth.

When power is given, we don’t pray to ask for power, we don’t beg for power but we just simply execute that power and bring glory to God.

Let us rise up in the authority and power that Jesus has given. Reign in Christ and bring glory to His Name.
