Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus gives a parable of the ten virgins and in this parable, Jesus shows the difference between the wise and the foolish virgins.

The wise virgins did not only carry oil to last a night but they thought about the future and prepared for it and brought extra oil with them.

The foolish ones were excited but only thought about the night and did not prepare for the future.

The wise had with them the oil supply to last for a longer time but the foolish ones had no oil to last them one more night. Therefore they had to go and get some more.

Jesus said to the Samaritan woman, "If you drink the water you draw from the well, you will thirst again."

"But the water that I have," Jesus said, "when you drink it, you will never thirst again."

The things of the world will not satisfy us of our true longings, our true needs, and pleasures.

We will keep going back and forth as it satisfies for a short moment because it will run out.

But Jesus is the oil that we need.

He is the wellspring of life that continues to flow and satisfy every part of us.

We are living temporarily in this world. We have seen people and loved ones who breathed their last in this world and moved on to the next.

We all need to prepare ourselves with that oil that takes us from this world to the next and that is Jesus.

With Jesus in us and we in Him, the oil will never run out and we will live for eternity with our Heavenly Father.

It is foolish not to prepare ourselves for life on earth. It is foolishness if we don’t think about our assignment here as children of God.

God wants us to be full in Him so that we can stand no matter how long it takes.

Let us be like the wise and live in Jesus who is life eternal, the oil and the water that never runs out.

Blessings
