“pray without ceasing,”

‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer is a lifestyle and the powerhouse of every believer. It helps us to keep our relationship with God fresh.

It keeps our mind alert to the promises of God and it will demonstrate its power when the time comes.

Jesus's ability to bring Himself to die on the cross is the demonstration of the power that He conquered in the garden of Gethsemane through prayer.

Jesus conversed with His Father and made the decision to follow His Father’s will instead of His own.

In the garden, Jesus fought the battle and won by making the decision for all mankind to be saved.

The real power of every believer is in our communication with our Father, Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus did not just pray prayers. Jesus prayed to bring His mind to align with the mind of His Father, Jesus prayed to bring His heart in agreement with the heart of His Father.

Jesus prayed to bring all His senses to submission to the plan and purposes of His Father.

When we pray, we bring ourselves to alignment with our Father in heaven through the truth that Jesus and the Holy Spirit have revealed to us.

When we bring our entire being into submission to God, then we will see the demonstration of His power when we are faced with the storms of life.

When we spend time praying like this, it will illuminate our minds and hearts to the reality of God’s power, authority, and glory that is in us.

We often make our requests known to God, our needs, our pains, and our sufferings which God already said He will take care of it if we seek Him first and His kingdom.

So prayer is not giving God a list of our needs. The prayer Jesus prayed is a prayer that brought His earthly life to a heavenly purpose.

The list we need to bring before God is a checklist to bring ourselves in unity with His purpose.

Then when we come out of our prayer time, we can move the mountains as Jesus did with His life.

Don’t pray and ask for what is already ours but pray to bring ourselves to live out all that Jesus has done for us.

Pray in the Holy Spirit, and build ourselves up in the truth, power, and love of God.

Let us pray without ceasing, living in Christ, and fulfilling our destiny.

Blessings

Ps Ambrose
