I Corinthians 9:25 NKJV

And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

I Corinthians 9:25 NKJV

Paul is speaking about harnessing our entire life for things that matters most, imperishable treasure.

People who compete in the competition go through training. They train in the areas that need to be strengthened.

They will not do stuff that will not bring benefit to them for the competition. Temperance is applied in every area of their lives to focus on what matters most.

The more time and effort they put in, the more ready and confident they will be for the competition.

For we are in for an imperishable crown. Not to compete with one another but to temper our mind and body for the cause of Christ.

When one soul is saved, the whole of heaven cheers and that is a crown of life for eternity. We are part of that journey.

We have been equipped in Christ with power, grace and love to preach, share and be the gospel to the world.

We too need to have temperance in our life to bring into alignment every part of us to focus on things that matter most.

Let us lay aside everything that derails us from the truth and by faith step out to do the great commission that Jesus has given us.

Blessings
