Galatians 2:5 NKJV
to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. Galatians 2:5 NKJV
Paul who was raised under the strict teachings of the law, lived under the law and persecuted all who go against the law knew well what freedom in Christ means. Therefore, he is reminding the Galatians that they have adopted the ways of observing the customs and observing the law instead of following Christ and all that He has done for them. Paul would not allow an hour to be given to believing the message that kept him and the people in bondage. Men always want to have a say in the things that God does and in a way take the glory that only belongs to God. We must be careful not to observe the law but to follow Christ in the liberty that He has purchased for us. It's important that we are not moved by our good deeds and good intentions to violate His grace and love. God liberated us from observing the ceremonies which empower sin, to a life in Him and sharing all that He has done for us. This is the message of Christ that needs to be preached to the world and not the message of observing rituals and ceremonies. Let us stay focused on the message of Christ and put into practice all that He has done for us. Blessings Ambrose Francis
