John 3:5 NKJV

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5 NKJV

Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus about how to enter the kingdom of God for Nicodemus had a desire to be saved. Jesus explained to Nicodemus in a way that will make sense to him. Nicodemus is familiar with the baptism of John, the baptism of repentance. It's about turning in the opposite direction. Born of water is when one has made a decision to denounce every other belief, other trusts, other hopes and faiths apart from Jesus Christ. A complete cut away from the system of the world to the system of God. To be born of the Spirit is receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This means that we take on the image of God and His likeness through Christ. Therefore, receiving Christ involves renouncing every other belief, other gods and other faith. We are born again by making these 2 main decisions. Reject the world and receive Christ. When people get saved by just receiving Christ without understanding about the first part, they get caught up in so many issues because they still practice the old life's wisdom and understanding. But the word of God is clearly saying " for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Discarding the ways of the world and embracing the ways of God through Christ Jesus Our Lord is the way to enter the kingdom of God. Let us remain in Christ and remain in His ways to encourage others and bless others in Christ. Blessings Ambrose Francis
