‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In the first chapter of this book, Solomon reflects on his own life and how he has missed some very important parts of what he had.

Solomon, who was described in the Bible as the wisest man ever lived had messed up big time and even built a temple for pagan gods.

Here, Solomon wrote that wisdom needed to be heard, and it was not just for listening.

It means wisdom is meant to direct our decisions and knowledge of how to get there.

Though Solomon was the wisest man, yet he chose his own desires and fell away from the knowledge he knew by doing the wrong things.

There are great lessons we have to learn. We too will end up living short of God’s glory if we do not put into practice everything that we know about what Jesus has done for us.

What Christ has done for us is too good to be true because it is a free gift to all who believe in Him.

Yet not many can enjoy that freedom, that power and love because they don’t direct their path in what Christ has accomplished.

It is great to know we have been freed, healed and delivered to expand His kingdom but if we just speak about it and do not live by it, it amounts to nothing.

A man of understanding is a man who puts into practice all that he has learnt. Therefore, he will experience increase in his life.

Let us not be hearers only but doers of God’s promises daily and bring increase in every area of our lives.

Blessings
