“For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes” and “No,” but has proved to be “Yes” in Him [true and faithful, the divine “Yes” affirming God’s promises].”

This passage is from the amplified translation; it explains a bit more for our understanding.

Everything that was preached by Paul and his companion is the truth and it will come to pass.

Jesus is the faithful one and whatever He has established will come to pass to those who hold on to it without wavering.

For in Him is Yes and amen. This means that what has been said will come to pass to those who believe.

The reality for believers is that we are being renewed in our minds from the old mindset.

Therefore, many believe yet they don’t believe. Sometimes “yes” to God and sometimes “no” to God.

Yes because we believe in what Christ has done and believe all things have become new.

And No, because we have been bombarded in our five senses, and we fall back to our old, unrenewed selves.

So the battle is not directly against satan but between our old nature, which satan has control over, and our new nature, which is in Christ.

Standing firm with yes to God and His word consistently will change our minds as a new creation in Christ.

Let us be steadfast in Christ and believe all that He has done for us.
