“that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,”

‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Paul continues to encourage the Thessalonians to keep reflecting on the finished work of Jesus that is in them.

We have gates that can let information and vision to come into our lives. Those gates are the eye and the ear.

If we allow our eyes and ears to look and get information from God’s word, then we will build our lives according to the sanctified life that Jesus purchased for us.

If we give our eyes and ears to the wisdom of the world and its form, then that is what is going to form our life.

Every person is responsible for their own body, their lifestyle and needs to cultivate themselves through the resources that Jesus made available to us.

We need to bring our desires, passions and longings under self-control. We must not let our desires, passions and longings control us.

No one in their right mind will make a choice to commit suicide, be involved in sexual immorality and live a perverted life.

Most of the time wrong choices were made because it is their feelings, their desires and passions that took control of their life instead of self-control.

God has given us self-control so that we can bring all our senses to achieve the best life God has prepared for us.

We bring honour to God when we let the gift of self-control manage our senses because, in the end, it will reflect the finished work of Jesus in each one of us.

God doesn’t want us to point fingers at others, God wants us to rise up and take our place as a child of God, a child of God who has received His Divine nature to accomplish everything in His Name.

Let us bring our bodies into subjection according to God’s perfect plans and bring glory to His Name.
